470 goats and sheep recovered in Marsabit in major bandit crackdown

A multi-agency security team in Marsabit County recovered 470 stolen animals and launched a major manhunt for bandits following a livestock raid in the Galgumbe area of Loiyangalani Sub-County.

The multi-agency team closely pursued the fleeing attackers, forcing them to abandon the 470 goats and sheep and escape into the rugged Ruai Hills.

"Security operations remain highly active in the area to track and apprehend the suspects, restore calm, and recover the remaining animals," NPS said in a statement.

The National Police Service commended the multi-agency security team for its coordination and quick response, which led to the successful recovery of the goats and sheep.

This comes right after police officers from Bubisa Police Station and Shurr Police Post in Marsabit County made a further recovery of livestock that had been stolen in the Loglogo area of Marsabit County.

The recovery was achieved through close coordination among security officers, National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) and community members, leading to the recovery of the livestock, including five donkeys and four head of cattle, in the Lalesa area.

The recovered animals have been handed over to Shurr Police Post and are currently in police custody, awaiting identification and handover to the rightful owner.
