Infamous bandit's gun seized in intelligence-led operation linked to livestock raids

A multi-agency security team, acting on intelligence, on Thursday, August 13, recovered one illegal firearm together with five rounds of ammunition in the Kakili area, Burat Location.

The firearm was being illegally held by an infamous bandit linked to recent armed attacks and livestock rustling in the region. The recovered firearm has been secured in safe custody pending further police action.

The National Police Service (NPS) in a statement commended the continued collaboration between the security teams and the local community and reiterated that information shared by the public remains vital.

"We reaffirm our firm and unwavering resolve to rid the region of illegal arms, crush banditry, and ensure safety and security for all," NPS said.
